"When I saw The YETI Club© and got involved in it, I thought, 'Oh my jeepers, how wonderful a program it is, but I wished I'd had it as [an elementary] principal!"

"It boosted the confidence of our at-risk kids, noticeable after only a few sessions... They interacted with others better and behaved better. This is a great program to strengthen at-risk kids and enhances the strengths of all others.

Also the connectedness of children to other children in the world is SO IMPORTANT! It's 'awesome,' as the kids say! We’re in a small rural community. For them to know there’s a world beyond Guttenberg, IA is very special.

Our students also came away with a clearer sense of the value of learning and what is possible in life. Their increased self-awareness guided them to more care and appreciation of their body and strategies to replace reactive behavior with more patience and understanding toward others. I think this is a good after-school program to run in Catholic schools."

"One of the great things about the course is how it touches on all learning styles, visual, auditory and tactile. All the members went away from the program with something different, some of them liked being able to see and talk to kids from other places, some of them liked the new words they learned, and others really enjoyed the hands on activities.

"It was exciting for the staff to hear how happy the kids were on YETI meeting days. We knew the members were having fun and learning with their peers, which is really what the club is about.

The YETI Club really seems to be the embodiment of the Boys and Girls Club Mission Statement, and I think it is a fantastic addition to our programming."

"The YETI Club was a great afterschool experience for our elementary school children. The interaction with other locations was very fun for our students. We used our computer skills and our geography to figure out where our friends were located. The materials provided were very easy to use. The amount of preparation needed was minimal and the lessons were excellent. The Club provided an identity for the students that encouraged cooperation and sharing. I would highly recommend this program to any facility with a group of elementary school-age children."

"Emotions--that is really not something that is taught in our school districts. For somebody else to come in from an outside source and say. 'These are your feelings; explore them'--well, at this age it's really insightful for children to go in and explore what different feelings are."

"The students were very excited about the technology part of the program, and that they could actually hear students from another school was very exciting to them. And to know they were speaking to a person in Seattle was just... they just loved that! I had to be arm-twisted to do this because I'm a novice with computers. The people that helped me set up the computer were so patient and helpful that I suddenly overcame my fear of the technology part of it.

This program is unique, worthwhile, and all my kids loved it!"
